#WeAreArity Wednesday: Susanta Kumar Sahoo

Arity · February 27, 2019 · 3 min read
In our #WeAreArity series, we shine a spotlight on Arity employees each week. This week meet, Engineering Lead Consultant, Susanta Kumar Sahoo.

When Mom asks me what it is that I do again, I say…

At Arity, I lead a team of talented and focused iOS engineers who converts the raw requirements into meaningful features which helps make the transportation system safer and smarter day by day. As a part of my work, I develop and ensure each time a high-quality driving engine SDK product is deployed.

In your own words, what is Arity?

In the world of having a “Who cares” attitude, Arity brings the “We care for you” attitude. For me, Arity is a team of amazing people who use the latest technology and smartest insights to improve our daily lives. What I like most about Arity is its open culture.

My favorite mode of transportation is…

My Honda hornet!! (a bike from Honda). I love to ride my bike. What could be more pleasing when all bikers meet and go on a road trip?!

On a Saturday afternoon, you can find me…

On bike rides with friends and exploring the food at different places. If the weather is not good, I can be found inside my room browsing cool tech innovations.

If you could volunteer for any cause, what would it be? Why?

Out of the three basic necessity of life, food comes first to me, without it, a human being can’t live. I strongly believe that nobody should go to bed with an empty stomach and I would love to volunteer for that cause. Secondly, I have been associated with the Red Cross society, where I donate blood 2-3 times a year which can save someone precious life in an emergency.

Most people don’t know

I am adventurous. I have gone sky diving and the great Himalayan tracking. Both of them were unique and life-changing experiences for me. My next target is scuba diving!

The theme song of my life is…

“Jindagi ek safar hai suhana, yanha kal kya ho kisne jana”, it’s an old Bollywood song which means “Life is beautiful, you don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow” So let’s live the life today.

Talk to your ride-share driver or silent ride?

Definitely talk to them. It’s cool to hear some of the crazy things that happen around the area from where the person spending most of their time. Some of the stories and conversations I had with them were quite interesting.

Would you get in a self-driving car? Why or why not?

Absolutely!!! That’s the future of transportation. Waiting for that day to experience how a car is taking to my destination without a driver. With all the technology in our cars, we are getting closer and closer to the world where self-driving cars are going to be common. Along with that, the additional security from an Arity product on those cars will be an amazing experience.

Favorite innovation pioneer?

Steve Jobs – a true innovator. I am sure without him, the mobile world would not have been the same in which we see it today.  The line which inspires me the most is “Don’t let the noise of others opinions drown out your own inner voice
