#WeAreArity Wednesday: Heather Henry

Arity · April 15, 2020 · 2 min read
In our #WeAreArity series, we shine a spotlight on Arity employees each week. Meet Heather Henry from our experience design team.

When my friend asks me what it is that I do again, I say…

I help create digital experiences that are easy to use and delightful to interact with by designing for the person who will be using it. At Arity, I am helping create a pattern library that serves our product teams.

In your own words, what is Arity?

An innovative company that uses data and technology to create useful products that improve mobility experiences.

My favorite mode of transportation is…

Biking or trains. I love biking around Chicago and other places I visit. I really appreciate the high-speed rail system in Europe, and wish the US had a city to city rail-line as fast and efficient.

On a Saturday afternoon, you can find me…

Enjoying the outdoors with my dog, cooking, practicing yoga or learning something new.

If you could volunteer for any cause, what would it be? Why?

Education – everyone should have the opportunity to learn and the resources to help them learn. The more a person knows, the better they are to make informed decisions for themselves and how to live their life; and hopefully, those decisions are beneficial to society as a whole.

Most people don’t know…

I am a certified yoga teacher. I have the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines (& will hopefully have Level 2 Award soon!)

The theme song of my life is…

I don’t care

Talk to your rideshare driver or silent ride?

I am usually pretty quiet, small talk isn’t really my thing but I have had some great conversations with drivers. I appreciate when drivers ask if I want to talk or not, rather than being forced into a conversation.

Would you get in a self-driving car? Why or why not?

No. I don’t really trust it… and I like to be in control of the car.

Favorite innovation pioneer?

Maria Telkes – an innovator in solar energy. She created the first solar-heated house and many other solar-energy applications. A technology I hope we will be using more and more of in the future.
