#WeAreArity Wednesday: Dan Regan

Arity · February 19, 2020 · 2 min read
In our #WeAreArity series, we shine a spotlight on Arity employees each week. Meet Dan Regan from our People team.

When my friend asks me what it is that I do again, I say…

I lead the Finance, People & Culture teams at Arity. We’re responsible for financial reporting & planning and focusing on making Arity the best place to work.

In your own words, what is Arity?

Arity is a group of driven individuals from diverse backgrounds working collaboratively for the common goal of making transportation safer, smarter, and more useful.

My favorite mode of transportation is …

My bike, I try to use it as much as possible.

On a Saturday afternoon, you’ll probably find me …

With my wife watching my son play basketball or being our daughter’s sous chefs as she creates a new recipe.

If you could volunteer for any cause, what would it be? Why?

Helping find a cure for ALS. It’s a disease that’s impacted my family and something I wish no one ever had to face.

Most people don’t know …

I can be a bit of a sneakerhead, and it’s something I’ve passed along to my daughter.

The theme song of my life is…

What a Wonderful World. Life is too short not to see the good in people and spend time appreciating the little things.

Talk to your rideshare driver or silent ride?

It varies, but those who know me might be surprised I talk to my rideshare drivers quite a bit. They probably wouldn’t be surprised though to learn the conversation is usually focused on trying to learn more about their business.

Would you get in a self-driving car? Why or why not?

Of course, if I could free up that time for other things, that would be wonderful. I commute on the train to work and having more time like that to work or catch-up on other things would be valuable. I do enjoy driving though so a manual mode would be a must.

Favorite innovation pioneer?

It’s not a person but characteristics of innovators I admire: pursuing your personal passion, believing in yourself even when others don’t, the ability to assess situations from alternate perspectives, and succeeding while being yourself.
