#WeAreArity Wednesday: Julia Rose Vetterick

In our #WeAreArity Wednesday series, we shine a spotlight on Arity employees. Meet Julia Rose Vetterick from our Communications team.

What movie do you wish you could watch again for the first time?

I wish I could watch La La Land again for the first time. It has the best soundtrack, and the emotions you feel towards the end of the movie are something that you don’t get watching it a second or third time – or however many times I’ve watched it.

What is your favorite part of working from home?

My favorite part of working from home is that I’m with my furry co-workers, my dogs Benji and Astro, all day.

How old are they?

Benji is about two and a half years old. Astro just turned one on November 1st.

Did you get him a cake?

No, I got him a little cookie that said “Happy Birthday” on it. He also ate steak and rice for dinner, so he was spoiled!

What do you usually eat for a quick lunch?

I’m a big lunch person. It’s either leftovers from the night before or a packet of Ramen – I guess I’m still on the “college diet.”

What’s the best food for leftovers?

Probably pasta. It doesn’t get soggy, and it stays yummy!

What is the best dessert?

Crème brûlée! For my birthdays, I never have birthday cakes. I always go to a restaurant where I know they’ll have crème brûlée, and they’ll normally put a little candle on it and sometimes write “Happy Birthday” on top of it.

It’s also just hard to make yourself at home. I’ve tried a few times, and if you don’t do it right, it can come out as sweet, scrambled eggs. Not good.

What do your family and friends think you do all day at work?

Post to social media and write blogs, which is pretty accurate – but then there are a lot of steps that go into that.

What movie defined your generation?

I have to say High School Musical. Anyone my age definitely knows it. In college, I actually went as Gabriella in a High School Musical themed couples costume. Every time I walked into a place, everyone in the room was like, “Oh my gosh, it’s Troy and Gabriella!” I was glad I wasn’t the only big fan of this childhood Disney movie.

Who is someone in your community that makes a difference?

I talk about dogs way too much but definitely any rescue. They’re doing something really great. Especially in these times, they’re really struggling to stay afloat. But they do the best they can to save animals and give them happy homes.

What is your favorite way to practice self-care?

Taking a few minutes out of the day to cuddle with the dogs on the couch or watch them play in the backyard. It’s a quick, easy mood booster because they’re cute!
