#WeAreArity Wednesday: Ross Reichardt
When Mom asks me what it is that I do again, I say…
At Arity, I ‘do stuff with data to make insurance better….. but not the data you buy at the cell phone store.’
In your own words, what is Arity?
Arity is a company positioned to correlate mobility within an environment, to risk so that we can enable and shift the way an industry provides protection to consumers.
My favorite mode of transportation is…
The most efficient & convenient.
On a Saturday afternoon, you can find me…
Outside! Saturdays are for long runs on the lakefront. Working out. Enjoying the weather in the summer. I struggle to sit still. Winter in Chicago is a bear. So, I’m active in the morning before a mid-afternoon nap, then get ready for dinner with friends around town.
If you could volunteer for any cause, what would it be? Why?
PAWS. It’s a local Chicago organization working to help orphaned and homeless animals find suitable homes. It’s a bridge between animal neglect and the people that benefit from having the comfort of an animal in their home.
Most people don’t know I…
Collect plants. I’m definitely a plant dad…..
…..also I drink a lemonade Kombucha every day of the week as dessert which is a slightly obscure habit.
The theme song of my life is…
‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ by Whitney Houston
Talk to your rideshare driver or silent ride?
Chat for sure! So many perspectives on the world. So many stories to hear. Different ways of life. Different values and desires. I love hearing them all.
Would you get in a self-driving car? Why or why not?
Absolutely! Very rarely you can ‘feel’ the future in an experience. I liken it to the first time I used an iPhone or felt a Tesla’s auto-pilot pull at your hands on the steering wheel. It’s a feeling of progress as a generation.
Favorite innovation pioneer?
Jack Dorsey. He’s founded, scaled and taken public two product-driven organizations enabling people to a.) participate in a conversation on an open and transparent platform (Twitter) and b.) participate in the economy (Square). Two incredibly transformational products in two fragmented industries.
