#WeAreArity Wednesday: Kevin Glickley

Arity · October 16, 2019 · 2 min read
In our #WeAreArity series, we shine a spotlight on Arity employees each week. Meet Kevin Glickley from our Engineering team.

When my friends ask me what it is that I do again, I say…

At Arity, I lead a talented team of International Engineers. We design and build the big data platform tools that enable our Data Scientists and Product Teams to better serve our customers.

In your own words, what is Arity?

A technology company focused on educating our customers on insights gathered from their driving behavior to better manage risk.

My favorite mode of transportation is…

While taking the train in to work is a refreshing change, I enjoy the freedoms a car gives me. Nothing like opening the moonroof, catching some fresh air and listening to your favorite tunes on the radio.

On a Saturday afternoon, you can find me…

Catching up on all the yard work or supporting my daughter and her Volleyball Team at a Volleyball Tournament.

If you could volunteer for any cause, what would it be? Why?

Habitat for Humanity because everyone can use a hand every now and then in their life.

Most people don’t know …

I enjoy doing woodworking or home improvement projects around the house. Doing this type of work gives me a great sense of accomplishment when you have a finished product in front of you to enjoy.

The theme song of my life is…

The theme song from the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark.  Life’s an adventure – enjoy it.

Talk to your rideshare driver or silent ride?

More often than not, I enjoy talking and listening to the stories they share. You’d be amazed at the stuff they have seen.  Stealing a quote from the Breakfast Club, “we are the eyes and ears of this Institution”.

Would you get in a self-driving car? Why or why not?

In rush hour, sure. I love to multi-task and make the most of my time. Otherwise, I enjoy being a road warrior.

Favorite innovation pioneer?

I have spent the majority of my career working with database technologies. I’d have to tip my hat to Charles Bachman for inventing the first random-access database management system.
