#WeAreArity Wednesday: Erica Hubbard
When my friend asks me what it is that I do again, I say…
At Arity, I get to support our awesome work culture and make our office the best place to work. I get the privilege of meeting all our new employees through onboarding. I also get to support them every day, whether it’s through continuous learning efforts, Employee Resource Groups, or just catching up!
In your own words, what is Arity?
Arity is changing the way we move! We focus on how to improve transportation so it’s safer and more efficient for everyone.
My favorite mode of transportation is…
The Brown Line! I LOVE taking the train to work every day and to different places throughout the city. I usually find some of my favorite restaurants by looking out and seeing what the train passes by. I’m also a big fan of people watching.
On a Saturday afternoon, you can find me…
Hanging out with my fiancé and my dog. Usually, we’re catching up on a show or exploring a new spot in the city.
If you could volunteer for any cause, what would it be? Why?
I would like to get more involved with our local domestic violence non-profits. This is a cause that’s always been dear to me and being able to run Purple Purse for our office this year was extremely rewarding.
Most people don’t know that …
I’m obsessed with baking. On Sunday’s I’m almost always in my kitchen attempting a new dessert.
The theme song of my life is…
Walking on Sunshine, I always try to stay positive.
Talk to your rideshare driver or silent ride?
I’m a silent rider. Fun fact — I’m quite introverted when I’m around people I don’t know and prefer to not talk AT ALL!
Would you get in a self-driving car? Why or why not?
Yes, under two conditions; I get to sit in the driver’s seat and I get to take over at any point during the ride. Autonomous vehicles still make me nervous.
Favorite innovation pioneer?
Gloria Steinem, I’ve always found her inspiring.
