#WeAreArity Wednesday: Ankit Sinha
When Mom asks me what it is that I do again, I say…
At Arity, I am responsible for testing and breaking the application by any means possible and being a “happy headache” for the development team. This involves working in close connection with the onshore and offshore team members to establish what is to be done and how it has to be done, as early as possible.
I have also been a part of Allegro (Allstate Bangalore’s Rock Band) for more than 4 years, working with individuals outside from my team due to which I have been able to showcase my singing skills at multiple organization level events.
I also bring smiles to faces of everyone on the team in my day to day interactions with them. Being a part of the cultural committee in the past allowed me to organize a plethora of events across the year and making it possible for individuals to break out of their routine. (Pic below was used in one of the editions of Allstate India Times, the local newsletter at Allstate India)
In your own words, what is Arity?
Arity to me is a group of individuals taking steps to fix the transportation system of the world, one driver at a time. On this quest of fixing the transportation system, Arity is also ensuring ways to make driving a safer experience for individuals and helping them at instances when they need help the most!
My favorite mode of transportation is …
My Thunderbird 350!!! (That’s a motorbike from Royal Enfield: The oldest motorbike manufacturers in India). I plan to drive across the lengths of India someday down the line!
On a Saturday afternoon, you can find me …
When I am not chilling on my couch playing my fav PS4 games along with my wife, we can be found restaurant hopping, exploring the tastes of the local eateries across the city.
If you could volunteer for any cause, what would it be? Why?
I strongly believe that nobody should go to their bed with an empty stomach and I would love to volunteer towards this cause. I have been associated with an NGO, where some friends and I spend a day in an orphanage for kids. We usually contribute some amount to buy food, have lunch with the kids and play games of their choice.
Most people don’t know that…
In 2015, I was the sole representative from Allstate India, ending up being one of the finalists in the Voice of RMZ (An Inter-Company Corporate singing contest with individuals from more than 25 companies participating in the same.)
The theme song of my life is…
Lose Yourself by Eminem!!! Anytime when things are not going my way, I know which song has to be blaring loud through my earphones. An instant motivation for me for a long time now!
Talk to your rideshare driver or silent ride?
Definitely talk to them. What better than to spend a ride knowing places in the city through the eyes of someone who spends most of his waking hours on the street. It also gives me an insight into their lives, which are so much different from ours. They can also guide you to the best eateries in town and let you in on little secret about the thing you could do in a new city.
Would you get in a self-driving car? Why or why not?
Definitely!!! Gets you the extra sleep hours or that extra arcade game that you could not complete while at home, and all that without having to worry about the traffic conditions!!! Also with the extra security cover of the Arity products in such a car, you are much more sure about your own safety. The other way I look at it is that you first need to taste the food that you have cooked and being in technology field it’s always good to be able to embrace such a change first hand before it goes out to the public.
Favorite innovation pioneer?
Larry Page and Sergey Brin! I am sure without them co-founding ‘Google’, half of us won’t know the world the way we know about it today!
